Livin' La Vida Costa...

There is a song that goes : "Driving too fast, because I'm moving too slow." And that is how "COSTA DEL" was born. Not because of the song but because of the feeling...

To me "STIJN haircare" was an absolute success. I never anticipated it to become so busy and so well known, so fast. That's why I am super grateful for all the trust and loyalty you all have given me over the past year. But to be honest, at this current pace, it is going to become impossible for me to deliver the same focus, creativity and quality that I have been promising from the start. 

Working early mornings 'till late nights, very often and every weekend. Being available through phone , Facebook , e-mail and WhatsApp practically 24/7 weigh more on me than I thought it could. I believe that my personal connection with my customers is what made "STIJN haircare" work. Because I am Stijn, and I care about your hair. Feeling sometimes overwhelmed by all the things that comes with running a business made me feel like a bad friend. And it is here, where pressure meets necessity, that creativity takes the upper hand! 

So that's why I started thinking to myself, about myself, my personal life... But also the huge succes of "STIJN haircare". Personal attention, intimacy and quality are what I believe got us so far so soon. But at the same time I feel like it is essential for my personal life to create more distance between myself and the brand that I have built.

Intimacy and distance are, offcourse, total opposites. So what I needed to do was create a space, with a name, a new concept. That was larger than myself, but that can still give my customers the same feeling of a safe haven when they confess their biggest hair-desires.

So where is my safe haven? Where do I come to my senses? What is the best time of the year? And why? When do I feel most relaxed? Where do I go to get my creative juices flowing again?

For me the answer was simple : when I am on a holiday! I love to travel, to wander, in the sun, with the feeling of warm sand between my toes. With the cheerful local music of summer in the background. I love it, all of it.

I think that says it all... Because I love you, all of you. And I love my job. And I hope I'll be able to continue to do what I love to whom I love, both for a very long time. So I hereby like to invite you to "COSTA DEL", I happen to have an extra ticket, just for you.
