Costa Del Holiday Gift-Guide

While no family is perfect, during the Christmas season it can sometimes feel like you're family is literally on the other side of the spectrum. Notice how the dysfunctional family cliché is always front and center at the holiday-movie storylines. (Home Alone anyone?) It seems everyone has a wacky aunt, overbearing mother or an estranged family member who suddenly decides to show up again and cause trouble come holiday time. Well, we can't change your family, but we can help change your family's perspective of you. (Insert a classy hair-cut or a fancy up-do.) But to really hit the home-run this year, here are our top tips for holiday gift-giving to warm up even the coldest of hearts.

For your overbearing mother : Moms make the world go round... everyday of the week. So this year, show your appreciation in a classy way. (Hand-made macaroni art will just not cut it anymore.) So spoil her with a hair-treatment fit for a queen. Kevin Murphy's Shimmer.Shine is the perfect mix between glam, shine, repair and a subtle but amazing scent. Add some Anne-Zellien jewellery and you're bound to be the favourite sibling for the year to come. Just make sure to cover up those two new tattoos... euhm, you know, like all those other tattoos you absolutely didn't got. (Love you though, mom.)

For daddy-dearest : It doesn't really matter, dads are usually pretty chill to shop for. But whatever you do, don't buy him socks... or a tie. He probably still needs to wear the ones you got him last year, and the year before... and the year before that.

For your significant other : lovers can either be the hardest people to shop for or the easiest. This usually depends on whether or not you have to fix some bumps in the relationship-road. Presenting yourself with a ribbon on your head can work the first couple of years but you may need to amp up your game this Christmas. If you and your partner have been ride or die for years you know that the things that matter the most in a relationship are trust, good food, great hair and a little quality-time booked in here and there. You can book this precious quality time at the Costa Del to fix all his and her hair-needs. Its almost 2017, we don't expect you to pay for our dinner, but if you pay for our brushing... now that is thoughtful. #JustSaying

For your brother-in-law : if your brother-in-law is still living at home, rocking cheap, shiny hair-gel and sleighin' his way into the DM of anything with boobs and a dog-filter, he might have a problem. If he has things as "CEO" in his Instagram bio while posting shirtless mirror-selfies... it is your responsibility to save him. May we suggest Kevin Murphy Gritty.Business? A clay-form finishing product that provides pliable hold. And while we're at it, why not get him a copy of the new "Like my like" book by Hannes Coudeneys? So that in 2017 your brother-in-law can use social media for what its intended to. (While rocking great hair that is.) #DickpicsAreSo2016

For any estranged family-member : Personally, I don't have a problem with giving people gift-cards. I've noticed lately that a lot of people find them "easy" and "not really personal" as gifts but the thruth of the matter is that the gift-card can be one of the most thoughtful gifts after all. So if you're in all sorts of stress because you have to be the secret santa to one of your extranged aunts or uncles, give them a Costa Del Giftcard for a "cut & style". We'll guarantee you that you will score some points, everybody deserves great hair... Even the people who say they've known you since birth and you never met them a day in your life. Our full price-list can be found here.

For your hairdresser : The blessing to have your love and trust for another year. Thank you to all our lovely Costa Tourists who made 2016 a little bit better. One hairflip at a time.
