Ménage a trois.

The different facets of a perfect holiday are sometimes hard to find in one place. For example : if you love shopping but you also want to retreat into nature for a day or two...  Or maybe you would like a very adventurous few days followed by obscene luxury in an all-inclusive hotel? But how do you custom-combine such holiday?

Insert the "Ménage  à trois" holiday! The idea came to me this week when my friend S. asked me to go to Malta for two days to come experience the “Isle of MYV” festival. All good, but when we started looking at ticket-prices, we found flying to malta on such short notice, and at those specific times where quit expensive. (To say the least.) But if we went to Rome first, on the evening flight, we could fly the next day, in the early afternoon, to Malta and back home after that. Dinner in Rome, brunch at Malta, for literally half the price! Now that is how I like to roll.

And it actually makes more sense to fly to a main city first. Flying to and from bigger or more popular destinations means more competition for the airlines. (And therefor the last-minutes are often so much cheaper.) So by stopping a day or two in Paris, Rome , Madrid or somewhere else first, you can save money on your flights and add another exciting facet to your well deserved holiday. Because a main ain't never as good, without something on the side.
